Flower and Garden Festival (FYJA)

Inspired by the “Chelsea Flower Show” festival in London, the “Flower and Garden Festival” was born in Mexico. It is an event full of colors and aromas with an impressive overflow of creativity that adorns the streets Polanco extending until the botanical garden of Bosque de Chapultepec. During its celebration, every year in the month of April, all the businesses and buildings in the area collaborate by decorating their facades with flowers, thus promoting appreciation for the natural diversity of this Country. Renowned landscapers and horticulturists print their floral designs on the shop windows, mainly on Presidente Masarik Street; there are also contests and workshops for the lovers of this beautiful art.

Polanco International Jazz Festival

If you like live jazz music, you should not miss The Polanco International Jazz Festival. One of the most relevant musical experiences in the country with guests from Mexico and the world who, together with their string and brass instruments, fill the stage of the Angela Peralta Theater in Abraham Lincoln Park. This event is totally family-friendly and aims to hold an artistic exhibition so that people of all ages can learn more and enjoy this genre. Great musicians from the USA, Cuba, Brazil, Spain, Colombia, and Ireland, among other countries, take all attendees on a sensory journey between elaborate musical chords at the light of the sun, the moon, and the stars since it is an outdoor venue. You can also find food and drink stands. The event is generally in Winter, although it may vary.

Alebrijes Parade

Alebrijes are mythical characters from the popular imaginary that are handmade mainly with papier mâché, cardboard, and wire. They are also painted with very striking colors in various techniques; They are part of the multicultural folklore of Mexico and are a symbol of identity and tradition. Every year Mexico City welcomes autumn with a spectacular and colorful parade of more than 200 monumental-sized models that circulate through the streets of the historic center in floats from the capital’s Zocalo to the monument of the “Angel de la Independencia”. Usually at the end of the parade and for two more weeks, these impressive crafts are displayed along Reforma Avenue (between the monuments of Diana and the Angel de la Independencia) for the visual delight of all spectators. International Fair of Cultures/Friends
