Discover a unique destination: Monterrey

Capital city of the state of Nuevo Leon, located in northeastern Mexico. Surrounded by mountains, Monterrey has a semi-arid climate very hot from June to August up to 40ºC. and cold from November to March average of 0ºC. It is the industrial and business city with greater development of the country and founded on September 20, 1526 by Don Diego de Montemayor who named it Monterrey as a tribute to the Viceroy of New Spain Don Gaspar de Zúñiga y Acevedo Count of Monterrey.
But, enough of history… Now it is time to say that Monterrey is a city where you will find modern shopping malls, restaurants and more where holding events and conventions is more than convenient.

The dessert is missing… the typical are the milk sweets such as wafers, walnut candy and the Glorias, a representative and popular sweet of this region that you should not miss to taste.

And what to say about the surroundings, forest and mountains that invite you to discover and enjoy nature in all its splendor. Its landscape is totally dominated by the Cerro de la Silla, so called because of its saddle shape and can be seen from any point of the city.

A visit to the Chipinque Ecological Park with its 1,791 hectares of protected natural area, ideal for biking or hiking, is quite an experience. We suggest you to take a tour to the Grutas de Garcia, an unforgettable tour in this set of caves discovered in 1843 with an antiquity of 50 million years that have formed stalactites and stalagmites in a whimsical atmosphere in its lighting and its 18 ºC at any time of the year.

If your trip is with children, another option is the Fundidora Park where visitors can walk and visit the Monterrey Iron and Steel Foundry, in operation from 1900 to 1986, which today is a great place to walk, skate on its rink, or enjoy its children’s games. You may also take a boat ride or rent a bicycle and visit the Oven 3 Museum or the Baseball Museum, among many other activities.
